Building K9 from a flat pack

So I started a new project this weekend. The goal is to build a radio control and/or robotic version of K9. I haven’t decided exactly what I want to do yet but when I found out that you can order a Styrene flat pack kit I figured this would be a much faster way of doing a new project than building everything from scratch from wood. The flat pack is made by Andrew Schwartz who goes by the handle R7Dude at the astromech.net web site. For more information you need to sign up (for free) to this site and then visit this page. The kit currently costs $225 including delivery (in the US).

Here is a photo of the flat pack pieces:

This weekend I got as far as a test fitting using scotch tape to hold pieces together. The kit is high quality and the pieces fit together really well (as you would expect, since the kit is cut by a laser).

Before I start gluing pieces together too much I need to figure out what electronics I want to add and how I will access them once the body is complete.
